If you live in the Boston area and have always wanted to learn to sail, go boating, kayaking, etc. and have viewed all those boats out on the Charles River so often with great envy, then you need to utilize CBI, Community Boating Inc. They’ve been around since 1936 and are an amazing organization.
Anyway, I joined last year and started getting my hands and feet wet sailing their smaller beginner Cape Cod Mercurys. Soon after I joined, I discovered that they also have superbly organized excursions into Boston Harbor on some of their Rhodes 19 boats that fit up to six people. I sadly didn’t have the time in my hectic summer shooting schedule to go out on any of these, but made a point of joining their last trip of the 2009 season on October 25th. With six boats total we sailed out to Georges Island for lunch and returned just in time for sunset.
These images are from that beautiful fall day out on the water. If you would like to view more images and or buy some of these photographs, click this link to see the full set of images at my SmugMug portfolio.
