I had the great pleasure last weekend to create some advertising photography for Seth & Angela Raynor, owners of the Pearl, Boarding House and Corazon del Mar, all restaurants on Nantucket. They needed some updated images of the dining room at the Boarding House along with the private Vintage room at the Pearl, for their website, etc.

Both of these dining rooms presented some difficulties in shooting on such a bright and sunny day with lots of sunlight trying to get in and create unwanted shadow effects. With a little light control, covered kitchen doors and love, in the end, I think I created some really beautiful ambiance photos for each space.

I was on Nantucket Island almost two weeks ago to work on some ambience and food photographs for Pi Pizzeria and I was lucky enough to be starting that shoot late and be able to run off to Madaket on the west end of the island to hunt for some sunset/dusk light to create some images. I got pretty lucky with the lighting, but most of all I was happy to discover some great subject matter for creating photographs emphasizing the play between shadow, light and lines during sunset. I have always loved finding everyday ordinary subjects that are quite beautiful when the right time of day is upon them.

I am heading out to Nantucket again tomorrow to finish up at Pi Pizzeria and then create some interior photographs for the Boarding House to highlight some of the aesthetic changes they have made recently.

I have put together a gathering of Fine Art landscape and seasonal photography images (with a touch of humor and portraits thrown in) of the Boston area and uploaded them to my SmugMug website for perusing and purchasing. The printing lab I have chosen, BayPhoto, does an amazing job with metallic prints, Giclée Watercolor prints and large canvas prints as well.
