I had the pleasure of photographing a great event on the 1st of August which is part of an amazing dining series that has been created from a union between Bay End Farm in Buzzard’s Bay and the Blue Room restaurant in Cambridge and their sister wine shop Central Bottle. They put together 3 or more of these fantastic outdoor dinners on the farm each summer in which all you do is bring yourself, your own plate, a seriously wet appetite, a wet appetite for some good wine, maybe some sunscreen and perhaps some friends and family members. If you want to potentially join the last one on Sept. 5th, click here.
This One Long Table event was on the 1st of August and included an amazing picked-that-morning fresh tomato salad, along with a rabbit ragu papardelle dish and a phenomenal roasted Bluefish.
The One Long Table dinners are very relaxed and meant to be social events and educational in expressing what Kofi and Erin and their team are producing on their great farm, along with experiencing what combinations chef Jorge Lopes puts together using the farm's fresh ingredients and some of his favorite seasonal gatherings.
If you would like to see a few more phtographs from this event you can go to my Facebook page or my Flickr Photostream. I am also posting a few of the Horse and Farm photos to one of my WECPhotosSmugMug galleries if you want to purchase beautiful prints.

I was out shooting over the Charles River a couple weeks ago while Melodie was sailing with CBI. It turned out to be a beautiful late afternoon to shoot all the boats and the lighting created during sunset.
Hope you enjoy!

I recently went on a trip up to Portland, ME for their Taste of the Nation event. On the way we stopped in Cape Porpoise Harbor for a quick bite at the Ramp restaurant and did a little stroll onto the pier. Here is just a couple of shots from that trip. I also threw in what I think is a really beautiful B&W shot of two cousins, sons of the friends we stayed with and the couple we traveled up to Portland with.

A fantastic 4th of July along the Charles River in Boston – Cambridge side. We got down to the Charles around 1pm to stake our claim to my favorite area for photographing the 4th in Boston; had a very hot but worthwhile day waiting for the fireworks to begin. What an incredibly lucky day with a light wind, a great rainbow just at the beginning of sunset and an amazing sunset to top it off.
The fireworks were amazing as always. I have just begun my post-production on the 400+ images after the first edit. So keep posted via my facebook page or check out the growing gallery on my WECPhotosSmugMug page. I'll be posting some to my fickr page as well.
Hope you enjoy and I hope you had a great weekend.

I had the great opportunity to photograph the 65 mile ride from beginning to end while cycling in the event as well. Melodie and I made our fundraising goal thanks to some great donors.
It was a cooker of a day with the temperature reaching the upper 80’s with some pretty awful humidity, but myself and all the other riders made it. This year was the biggest turn out for riders in all categories: the 65, 25 and 15 mile rides. If you don’t know anything about BNB check out their website.
As always the Green Roots Festival was held from noon to 5:30 at the Stony Brook Station (orange line T) on the Southwest Corridor Park. There was some great food, great sponsor booths, and some great drum bands.
To see the full set of images, go to my WECPhotosSmugMug page and click on the BNB gallery.
50% of all print sales will be donated to BikesNotBombs.
Enjoy and let me know what you think!!

I was invited by a teacher friend of mine, Richard, to present some photography and work ideas to a few of his students at Mount Prospect Academy in Plymouth, New Hampshire. Mt. Prospect Academy specializes in difficult to treat and hard to place adolescents who have had difficulties finding success in alternative environments.
It was a challenging yet really rewarding day presenting to these young men and getting to play a little Frisbee with them as well. I only hope that a few of them saw yet another career or interest alternative that may give them insight into the plethora of possibilities life can present to us. We did make a few portraits of the classes; however, due to these young men being minors, I have not presented any images of the students with faces in view. I have created a password safe portfolio of the Mt. Prospect Academy photos for the boys and the staff their. I hope the students enjoy them.
That being said Richard showed me a fantastic old Barn nearby in Alexandria, NH that I had the chance to create some beautiful images of. Hope you enjoy!!

Evan & Maria Marley, owners of Pi Pizzeria on Nantucket, asked me to come in and photograph pretty much everything about their restaurant. This meant the food, staff, the bar, dining rooms, ambiance, their great take-out patio, drinks and even a perfectly created cappuccino that I gulped down afterwards to help me through the rest of the shoot. We organized two different shoots: one later in the evening for a little bar and dining room ambience and the second shoot early afternoon to create some superb food, interior and drink photographs.
The two of them were looking for images that would better represent not just their food and style but better display the feeling and experience that their guests walk away with when dining at their great restaurant. As always, I seem to have created and delivered more images than was probably necessary, but I believe we ended up with some fantastic images to use in the end for their future website and advertising.
To see the full slew of images, check out my PiSmugMug portfolio or simply visit my WECPhotosSmugMug site. I will be posting a few images on both my professional Facebook page and my Flickr site.
Enjoy!! Feel free to give feedback.

I had the great pleasure last weekend to create some advertising photography for Seth & Angela Raynor, owners of the Pearl, Boarding House and Corazon del Mar, all restaurants on Nantucket. They needed some updated images of the dining room at the Boarding House along with the private Vintage room at the Pearl, for their website, etc.
Both of these dining rooms presented some difficulties in shooting on such a bright and sunny day with lots of sunlight trying to get in and create unwanted shadow effects. With a little light control, covered kitchen doors and love, in the end, I think I created some really beautiful ambiance photos for each space.
The entirety of the images can be viewed at WecphotosSmugMug site and a smattering have been uploaded to my professional facebook page.
Enjoy!!

I was on Nantucket Island almost two weeks ago to work on some ambience and food photographs for Pi Pizzeria and I was lucky enough to be starting that shoot late and be able to run off to Madaket on the west end of the island to hunt for some sunset/dusk light to create some images. I got pretty lucky with the lighting, but most of all I was happy to discover some great subject matter for creating photographs emphasizing the play between shadow, light and lines during sunset. I have always loved finding everyday ordinary subjects that are quite beautiful when the right time of day is upon them.
I have posted a few of these images here and the grand total can be viewed on my SmugMug page.
I am heading out to Nantucket again tomorrow to finish up at Pi Pizzeria and then create some interior photographs for the Boarding House to highlight some of the aesthetic changes they have made recently.

I have put together a gathering of Fine Art landscape and seasonal photography images (with a touch of humor and portraits thrown in) of the Boston area and uploaded them to my SmugMug website for perusing and purchasing. The printing lab I have chosen, BayPhoto, does an amazing job with metallic prints, Giclée Watercolor prints and large canvas prints as well. If you see something you like but can't find the size you want, just contact me directly.
Enjoy the images and there will be many more to come.

Well it was a very windy day for the Boston Marathon but very exciting and the weather held up beautifully for the elite runners if not a little chilly for the 8+minute mile runners. I stayed in the Heartbreak Hill area for all of my photographing and really enjoyed getting to see every group of runners.
This is a very small sample of images from today. I will be uploading all of the images to my SmugMug site as I go through post-production.
And a smattering will be available to view on both my Facebook and Flickr pages.

I’ll be covering the 114th Boston Marathon on Monday, April 19th from Heartbreak Hill in Newton. This will be my third year in a row shooting the world’s oldest annual marathon. This year I will be keeping my eyes and shutters peeled for the front runners initially and later on for a few friends that are participating. I am especially looking to get some good shots of Catherine Clark as she tops Heartbreak Hill.
I will be posting some of the photos to this blog on Tuesday and all the finished images to my WECPhotosSmugMug site for viewing and buying, as I complete post-production. I will also upload a good chunk of my favorites to my Facebook & Flickr pages.
Here’s a few fun images from last year.

Just a few images I created while capturing a wedding overlooking Narragansett Bay. The sunset was obviously beautiful but I really loved the reflection off of the windows of the venue. I feel that the small amount of visibility of what is beyond the window adds mystery to the images along with the distortion of the landscape in the reflection.

If you live in the Boston area and have always wanted to learn to sail, go boating, kayaking, etc. and have viewed all those boats out on the Charles River so often with great envy, then you need to utilize CBI, Community Boating Inc. They’ve been around since 1936 and are an amazing organization.
Anyway, I joined last year and started getting my hands and feet wet sailing their smaller beginner Cape Cod Mercurys. Soon after I joined, I discovered that they also have superbly organized excursions into Boston Harbor on some of their Rhodes 19 boats that fit up to six people. I sadly didn’t have the time in my hectic summer shooting schedule to go out on any of these, but made a point of joining their last trip of the 2009 season on October 25th. With six boats total we sailed out to Georges Island for lunch and returned just in time for sunset.
These images are from that beautiful fall day out on the water. If you would like to view more images and or buy some of these photographs, click this link to see the full set of images at my SmugMug portfolio.

I have been working on coastal images of New Hampshire during the fall, winter and spring. I really enjoy creating photographs of what may seem to be very normal landscapes, almost bland or benign subjects, but capturing them in a more interesting way, with tension or even a cynical edginess to some of them. Here I have captured the big church steeple in downtown Portsmouth, a watershed area near Rye NH, post-fire & heat effects on some buildings in North Hampton NH and a few landscapes of Rye Harbor.

I really enjoy photographing in the late fall, winter and early spring in the Northeast. There is a simplicity to landscapes that draws my attention to some of the details I think we normally miss in the flourish of colors and activity evident in the spring and summer months.
I also search for subjects that I believe are often overlooked or disliked, such as the lone pinkish house below that is such a sore thumb in some ways but beautifully lonely yet seemingly content in its surroundings: almost as though it has just settled in for the brutal winter months and their storms.
