Mike Betts - Private Chef Tasting

Mike Betts is a superb private chef based in the Brookline area of Boston. Each year he creates this amazing tasting menu for this family and their honored guests in their stunning Weston home. For this shoot the light was a big challenge because of working out of a family’s home with very bright overhead lighting in the kitchen and very little control of it by me. I also had to deal with Mike’s required speed of plating each course and being able to capture each dish creatively.

Each course was paired with the host’s amazing wine choices from his phenomenal cellar. Mike started off with Nantucket Bay Scallops with a curried dipping sauce and moved through a beautiful lobster presentation all the way through two meat courses to a very delicate Apple Parfait to finish it off.

It was a joy to work with this great chef and capture his style and energy.
