The floating fishing huts (Bagangs) of southwest Java have been intriguing me for years. I am documenting the work these fishermen do on the huts and the comrade they share.
It is a potentially dying way of life as larger international operations come into their territory and as supplies and the cost of building and maintaining the bagangs increases. Many villages and families depend on the daily catch from the fishing huts to survive.
